THE FUTURE DEPENDS ON WHAT WE DO IN THE PRESENT.

MAHATMA GANDHI

Years later and far into the obscure future, these words will still stay true. A guide to generations to come, a path to be established and cherished with thoughts of the past, echoing the fact that 'it was my actions in the past, that made the future I am in today'!

"The future depends on what we do in the present” encapsulates the profound impact of our current actions on the trajectory of our lives, societies, and the world at large.

The Whispering Oak

In the heart of an ancient forest stood an oak tree older than memory. Its gnarled roots delved deep into the earth, and its branches reached for the sky. The villagers believed it held secrets—the whispers of ages.

The oak stirred, its leaves rustling like ancient parchment.

“Child,” it murmured, “the future is a reflection of your present choices. Each step you take, each decision you make—weaves your destiny.”

Meena frowned. “But I’ve made mistakes,” she confessed. “Moments I wish I could rewind.”

The oak chuckled. “Time flows forward, my dear. But listen closely.” Its branches leaned closer. “Every regret, every misstep—they’re threads in your life's tapestry. You can’t unravel them, but you can choose new threads.” Meena pondered. “How?”

The oak whispered. “Be mindful, know the sense of right and wrong, and take the correct steps and decisions. Take care of them with dedication and love. Your future, from now on, depends on what you nurture today.

And so, Meena vowed and left the forest, carrying the oak’s wisdom. Years later, she came back with a bright smile and nestled under the oak tree with contentment.

Our present actions are the loom, and our future—the intricate fabric we weave.

In our personal lives, every decision matters. By making conscious choices today, we pave the way for a brighter tomorrow. However, overcoming inertia, societal norms, and personal limitations requires determination. Let us embrace the present as a canvas for shaping a future that aligns with our values and aspirations.

One bright sunlit day, a weary traveler named Meena sought refuge beneath the oak. Her heart was heavy with regrets, “Why?” she whispered. “Why did I waste precious years chasing shadows?”
